Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a major in English or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility for licensure.
- Successful secondary teaching experience; leadership experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to Christian education and the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
- Proficiency in educational technology and Microsoft Office applications.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach middle and high school English courses using the AIMS standards-based curriculum.
- Develop engaging lessons and assessments that meet diverse student needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain effective communication with parents.
- Create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in curriculum development, professional learning, and school activities.
Department Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for the English Department.
- Coordinate curriculum planning, assessment practices, and instructional improvement.
- Monitor student achievement and support teachers in improving learning outcomes.
- Mentor department staff and facilitate collaboration and professional growth.
- Ensure departmental alignment with school policies, mission, and strategic goals.
