Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a major in English or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility for licensure.
  • Successful secondary teaching experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to Christian education and the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and Microsoft Office applications.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Teach middle and high school English courses using the AIMS standards-based curriculum.
  • Develop engaging lessons and assessments that meet diverse student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain effective communication with parents.
  • Create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in curriculum development, professional learning, and school activities.

Department Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the English Department.
  • Coordinate curriculum planning, assessment practices, and instructional improvement.
  • Monitor student achievement and support teachers in improving learning outcomes.
  • Mentor department staff and facilitate collaboration and professional growth.
  • Ensure departmental alignment with school policies, mission, and strategic goals.
